Bio

I obtained my European PhD in Biochemistry from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2013. I was the head of the functional MRI Unit of Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante from 2011 to 2017 after obtaining a permanent position in CSIC. In 2017, I joined the lab of Professor Bhujwalla at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with my own fellowship from the Alonso Martin Escudero foundation followed by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Action. I am the author of 31 publications and multiple monographies. My research interests focus in the development of advanced MRI ontrast agents and diagnostic methodologies, the study of tumoral microenvironment, the synthesis and testing of new theranostic agents to treat cancer, and the investigation of the relationship of tumor aberrant metabolism and tumor acquired immune resistance.
